Review of Space Chimps (2008) by Movie K — 13 May 2011
This wasn't that bad as I expected. The short run time saves it. A spacecraft call the Infinity Probe got zap into a worm hole and crash on the house of an evil alien Zartog. He manage to gain control of it and rein power.
The scientist deem the mission to get it back is too risky for human, so the space chimps are been assign. The Senator wants to have another chimp onboard, a chimp who is famous. They find Ham III, the grandson of the first chimp in space.
He is a cannon stunt circus performer. He doesn't want to join but forcefully taken. The space chimps include Luna whom Ham is attracted to and Titan the commander. Ground crew is Comet and Houston the buddy of Ham.
They begin their training and Ham can stay awake even in 10G force. Zartog meanwhile command the fellow beings to build a structure around the volcano. The launch day is set. Titan and Ham can't get along.
Their rocket got zap into the worm hole and only Ham is awake. He manage to land safely. The alien discover them and Zartog send the army to get the rocket. Ham and Luna escape. They must get back the rocket and Titan or else stuck on the planet forever.
When Titan finally awakes, Zartog was going to freeze him but Titan says he could teach him how to better control the machine. Ham and Luna saw another little alien Kilowatt who glow when feeling scared.
She guide them to find Zartog. In the cave, a monster is in their way. Kilowatt distract it and got swallow. Ham and Luna were capture too. The trio are gonna be freeze but Titan trick Zartog to press some buttons and he got spring out of the seat and fell into the freeze pool.
Comet finally call through the trio. Their rocket is never meant to return to Earth. They needed big boost and Ham thought of the volcano. All the aliens help out. Titan pass the control to Ham as he will not pass out.
They reach atmosphere and crashing but Luna awake to assist Ham. Houston ask Ham to do what he do best at the circus act - crash landing. But this time be accurate. They did it successfully. The media extensively coverage and Senator quickly change his mind to fully fund the 3 scientists further.
