Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Mannie L — 16 Aug 2008
Sci-Fi-Eco thriller with chops. Chuck Heston and Eddie Robinson rip it up in this futuristic thriller where intrigue and murder are only plot devices to keep the viewer from the real story which comes in the shocking ending.
This is Robinson's last film (he died of cancer shortly after filming). In fact his last celluloid scene is an euthanasia sequence, tragic indeed. The music in Solyent Green is also a standout, giving it that real desperate feel.
