Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Greg.kerry M — 01 Jan 2010
This movie surprisingly held up decently 36 years later (oh wow....), and actually shot quite well. And it really made some interesting predictions (inconvenient truth + food inc). Obviously there are old-fashion elements that aren't gonna play out well for some and the big surprise is really quite obvious about 15 mins into the movie, but the story is interesting and well-paced enough that Sci-fi lovers should find this enjoyable.
The concept of girls as "furniture" is a strange, and surprsingly one, although it does kind of feel like it doesn't belong here and could be another movie.
I was thinking during the film that this can be remade with some minor changes to the story. And according to some websites there is one in production, due out in 2011.
