Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Martin B — 22 Oct 2010
Epic Sci-Fi dystopia made in 1973.
In an overcrowded future there isn't enough real food to go around.
So people eat biscuits handed out by the state.
This is the story of the green biscuits.
It's a fascinating story led by a confused and corupted police officer played by Charton Heston, the old madman. He was a bit old even in 1973.
The Future is a strange place. The city of New York has got 40 million inabitants and most of them live in stairs or in a abanded church.
All women are reduced to "furniture". They are part of the utilities that comes a long with the apartment the man owns. They are even called "furniture" People that can read are called "books" and are generally very old and resembles small trolls. They also remember the old days, and food and trees.
Thorn (Heston) is on to something, will he save the day?
