Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Lain G — 04 Mar 2013
Soylent Green is a confused film. Its intentions don't match its production values nor its execution. The story revolves around overpopulation in the future, meanwhile incorporating themes of classist and sexist tones, also trying to put forth an engaging plot structure that has something to do with the manufacturing of food.
It's jumbled and messy with its production limits clearly noticed. However, it has a strong script and benefits from whatever futuristic claims it tries to theorize.
