Review of Southpaw (2015) by Juan B — 18 Sep 2015
Southpaw is a very predictable, formulaic storyline that doesn't really go anywhere. Not sure why it's named 'Southpaw' considering that is part of the storyline for less than 2 minutes.
Rachel McAdams is not believable as an orphan from Hell's Kitchen. Forest Whitaker is good as the crotchety old trainer. The most realistic part of the movie is 50¢'s money management; he lost all of Hope's $$ too.
