Review of Southland Tales (2007) by David T — 17 Feb 2009
Just plain odd...but then it's by the guy who wrote Donnie Darko (The Greatest Movie Of All Time?) so what did I expect.
The cast don't get much more stella then this with a whole host of A-listers and the soundtrack is AWESOME with the crop of both British and American talent lending their music to this oddball movie!!! Blur-Tender at the end gave me goose bumps!
It's extremely hard to rate this movie, I could swing either way...it's mega complicated but that does not distract from some great moments, most notably for me the Justin Timberlake trip scene singing along to The Killers.
The acting is faultless to be fair but the story just bends your head, this one could do with another watch and if the movie is bonkers then the book must be the most zany thing ever committed to paper.
