This was made by the same guy who did Donnie Darko and it definitely has similarities, including a guy w/ a shot-out eye, a time portal, and the end of the world. I love Donnie Darko, but this movie was strange.
Dwayne Johnson made this movie much better than it would have been. His Mr.-Burns-finger-twitching-on-steroids behavior was hilarious.
The end of the world starts w/ nuclear attacks in Abilene, TX and then the USA escalates into a pro-conservative Big Brother? Hm.
Oh, and by the way...this movie makes no sense.
