What do you make of a film like Southland Tales? If ever there was an over-ambitious, convoluted, confusing, almost unwatchable film made, it would surely be this. But there is a watchability in the many faults, teetering on the edge of bad and can't-turn-my-head-away-train-wreck-bad.
