Review of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) by Bradley W — 08 Jun 2014
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is a work of pure comedic genius. Not only are we treated to a brilliant comedy musical based off one of my favorite television programs for almost two decades, we are given a reminder that a movie can be bring up important issues in the funniest way possible.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone are artists with a vision, and despite their love of vile and insane satire we achieve the highest possible laughs possible. There wasn't a minute that passed in this film in which I wasn't cracking up.
From seeing Stan searching endlessly for the clitoris to a gay Satan trying to talk about his feelings to his boyfriend Sadaam Hussein, their is something deep down inside of us that makes us laugh at the pure subtle beauty of it all.
This is without a shred of doubt one of my favorite comedies ever made, and it only gets funnier each time I see it. I'll say it forever: I love South Park!
