Review of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) by Alex R — 11 Jun 2011
One of the best movie musicals ever. The music itself is a brilliant spoof of other familiar musicals, including rogers and hammerstein, west side story, les miseables, and others. The constant cursing has the verbal dexterity of a Quentin Tarantino script.
But what keeps the movie fresh is the argument of it, which will continue to be relevant as long as the first amendment and free speech remain relevant, which is always. The moral: as offensive as some things are, part of what makes us free is the right to offend.
