Review of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) by Jon E — 22 Mar 2014
Trey Parker and Matt Stone take a cathartic aim at the role of overreacting censorship in the US, as the US and South Park's PTA declare war on Canada over a foul mouthed movie that influences their to curse.
Although initially the incessant vulgarity does produce some giggles, it gets old after a short while. Happily, there is some sharp satire along the way, and the irreverence of having Saddam Hussein portrayed as Satan's gay lover is, well, outrageous.
But 81 minutes of ugly animation and strident musical numbers begins to wear thin by the time the credits roll.
