Review of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) by Erik B — 20 May 2014
Comedy basically equates to one part timing and one part misery. With that knowledge, it's really no wonder how "South Park" has managed to survive the test of time, let alone seventeen seasons. Always on top of current issues and always horrifically, shockingly offensive, "South Park" has become something of a television staple over the years. It's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, also have a gift of telling jokes that latch onto pop culture so hard that it's difficult to imagine a time where said jokes weren't officiated with it. In their own fucked up way, their show is something of a timeless comedy classic at this point.
The film is basically that on a bigger scale. Quick witted, foul mouthed and endlessly cruel, "Bigger, Longer and Uncut" is a total, shit covered gem.
