Review of South Pacific (1958) by Eliza H — 16 Jul 2008
"A hundred and one pounds of fun, that's my little honey bun." This is a great film. The songs are great, with hit after hit in it and a strong anti racist message which was brave for the time in which it was made.
Mitzi Gaynor and Rossano Brazzi are well cast as Nellie and Emile. It is very romantic especially the ending which I love. The only thing that spoils it for me and for many viewers is the choice of weird colour filters which are very puzzling.
