That Jake Gyllenhaal isn't more of a leading man in Hollywood is a crime. He can really carry a film, and this is a particularly strong performance. It adds depth and genuine human emotion to what is already a compelling and thoughtful plot.
Add to that a helping of action and the always-welcome Vera Farmiga and you have one of my favorite films of 2011.
