Review of Sound of My Voice (2011) by Gianluca C — 03 Oct 2012
After watching this, I wanted to join the huggy-pukie club too.
Brit Marling is excellent in the role of the cult's dreamy, charismatic leader reminiscent of that passive-aggressive cool chick you knew in your college days only this particular character happens to know, well, the future.
Each frame was well-thought out to take the audience on an emotional, sometimes logical, journey, second-guessing themselves whether this chick is the real deal. Although questions were left unanswered, I personally didn't really feel the need to dig up in-depth spoilers which could be a bad thing or a good thing, seeing as the movie's multiple interpretations are left to the audience's blurry reasoning.
