Review of Sound City (2013) by Ian G — 19 Apr 2013
What started out as a love letter for the studio that was ground zero for a lot of platinum selling records adds a great element and companion piece to Side by Side which tracks the eventual digitization of the music industry and how its can be used as a great tool but also how a lot of the older school musicians try to hang on to the human element of the industry by having control of the final product and gthe joy it brings.
A whose who of talent was brought here by Grohl from Fleetwood Mac, NIN, the surviving members of Nirvana and Tom Petty and the Heatbreakers, A definite must watch for any music buff and teases the first live performance of Nirvana without Kurt since his passing.
Awesome times.
