Review of Soul Survivors (2001) by Nick K — 05 Sep 2008
I finally watched this movie last night. I heard so much about it back when it came out - mostly about how confusing it was. However, I didn't think it was as confusing as everyone makes it out to be.
If you have seen Jacob's Ladder, then you can figure out what's going on in this movie. Basically the main character, Cassandra, is in purgatory after a car accident involving herself and her friends and another car of weirdos from some rave at a church.
While in purgatory, which appears to be reality to Cassandra, she believes her boyfriend, Casey Affleck, was killed in the accident. In reality, he survived the accident and is by her bedside in the hospital telling her to hang on.
Cassandra's other two friends, Wes Bentley and Eliza Dushku, are dead and want her to move on to the afterlife with them. Like I said, if you saw Jacob's Ladder, it's the same movie only for a 20 something crowd.
No real scares, just a few chases here and there.
