I know that I am in the minority here, judging from the comments, but I actually liked the movie Soul Surfer! Yes, some of it was somewhat "cheesy" but for the most part it told the story of Bethany's will to survive and how she overcame adversity.

For The Record, I don't think Carrie Underwood, who played Sarah - Bethany's church youth counselor - did a bad job of acting! It was her very first acting job after all! In fact, one of my favorite scenes in the movie is when Sarah and Bethany talk about why terrible things happen to us sometimes! As for those who think AnnaSophia Robb was a horrible actress in her role as Bethany, I respectfully disagree! In the scene that I mentioned I thought AnnaSophia showed some real emotion and I actually got teary-eyed! Of course, it could be because I have a disability myself and I could understand Bethany questioning why God let it happen! another scene I could totally relate to was when she asked her mother what guy would be interested in her because she is no longer "normal.

" So the movie may not be the best movie ever, about a person who becomes disabled in some way then overcomes adversity but it sure isn't the worst! BTW - if you believe that Carrie Underwood or AnnaSophia Robb were such terrible actresses in the movie, check out Vanna White's acting ability in the one, and only, made for TV movie she was the main actress in.

I believe it was called Venus - Goddess of Love or something like that!
