My favorite movie at the moment! This is a very inspirational story about never giving up! You see, the storyline of this movie is based on Bethany Hamilton who is a young and promising competitive surfer, dedicated christian, great daughter, and friend to many.
Her life is instantly changed when she gets attacked by a shark while surfing with her best friend, Alana Blanchard, on the North Shore. She loses her arm and is convinced that she will never surf again.
Yet, with the help and encouragement of her family, friends, and youth pastor (Sarah Hill) she slowly realizes that it is possible for her to surf again with hard work and dedication.*SPOILER ALERT* When she receives her prosthetic arm she realizes it will not help her surf and refuses to wear it.
She trains hard, and with a little help from her dad, modifies her surfboard to help her hold on while "duck diving". She then enters a competition and catches the winning wave just a second to late.
Yet, even though she doesn't win the competition she realizes that she can do everything she was able to do before the accident. So, once again as you can see the overall theme of this movie is "Anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
" I would highly recommend this movie for everyone! (:
