Review of Sorry, Wrong Number (1948) by Derek C — 02 Jun 2008
In the tangled networks of a great city, the telephone is the unseen link between a million lives... It is the servant of our common needs--the confidante of our inmost secrets...life and happiness wait upon its ring.
..and horror...and loneliness...and...death!!! Those are the openings lines to this movie. Aside from sounding just a tad cheesy and out of date (and an abuse of ellipses), the movie is actually very good.
Obviously it's very old, so you may have to overlook some of the technology in the story. But if a movie, or story, is truly good then it stays good regardless of time. I once knew a person who refused to see a movie solely because of the fact that the movie was in black and white.
That person is an idiot.
