Barbara Stanwyck plays a bedridden woman who, alone in her New York apartment, realizes through a crossed telephone wire that a woman will be killed. She overhears two men planning until she knows the truth: she will be the one to be killed! Stanwyck gives a terrific performance, especially in the final scene when she comes face to face with her killer!
