Review of Sorry to Bother You (2018) by Jaime L — 26 Dec 2018
This film started out fine but the increasingly anti-capitalistic message bothered me especially when flavored with anti-police and anti-white bits as well. The surreal elements were fine and added to the film for me... at least at first. Around the time the third act begins there is a certain revelation at which point the film goes from strange to ridiculous. I simply could not take the direction taken, absurd visually and storywise.
Sorry to Bother You may be flawed propaganda/satire but it was effectively filmed, and superbly acted, definitely give this massive props for that, even if the script isn't something I can get behind.
