Review of Sorority Row (2009) by Hunter M — 05 Aug 2012
This one works only because it doesn't take itself too seriously. It feels a lot like a SCREAM film in its slick melding of simultaneous horror and hilarity, with a shot of the immoral-life-style punishment themes of HALLOWEEN and MANDY LANE.
The characters are actually all pretty likeable and funny in their own ways and Briana Evigan is a great lead for this kind of film. She was really convincing in her role. The only thing missing from this was a good chase scene and a little bit more to work with as far as plot because the reveal basically comes out of nowhere.
..you are given no clues whereas in other films like SCREAM if you watch the films again you see all the various clues laid out. It's very bloody and pretty intense. Definitely has its moments. And again, it's funny as hell, too.
