Review of Sorority Row (2009) by Narain S — 14 Oct 2010
- I have to admit that Sorority Row is a very entertaining movie, and you can't help but to laugh at the dumb dialogue. Surprisingly, the Film really makes sense when you found out who the serial killer is.
Seriously, you can't predict it. It is basically the story of a college sorority known as the Theta Pi, in which members Jessica, Cassidy, Ellie, Claire, Chugs and Megan decides to throw a huge party at their mentor's home.
Unfortunately, they decide to pull a prank on Megan's cheating boyfriend Garrett. The prank was to fake Megan's death and pretend they were going to dump the body inside a mineshaft. They jokingly insist that they needed to pull out all of the air from her lungs so that the body does not float.
Without realizing it, Garrett stabs Megan in her chest with a freaking tire iron, killing her instantly. Much to their chagrin and horror, they decide to go along and hide the body, keeping this secret so their lives would not turn upside down.
8 months later, after the girl's graduation, they start having strange messages with a hooded stranger holding the same tire iron that killed Megan. Someone knows the secret and want to avenge this death.
What ensues next is typical entertaining stalking-and-slashing on dumb college students. Somehow, it reminds me of the slashing classic "I know what you did last Summer" which is a positive aspect.
Carrie Fisher portrays the home owner; Mrs. Crenshaw. She's really bad ass with a shotgun and couldn't help to notice how different and old she is now. I will forever remember her as Princess Leia.
Anyway, this movie is really fun and entertaining, the girls are all SEXY but they die horribly, well... most of them. I recommend it!
