A devastating film with a heartbreaking story, Sophie's Choice is lifted into a thick air of depression and Kline is greatly manic and MacNichol is fine but nothing is as perfect or emotionally effortless than Meryl Streep in not only her best role but one of the greatest female performance of all time.
