This is a gentle musical drama film. The plot is a bit weak but its an easy and enjoyable watch regardless and I thought the songs performed were quite fun. It obviously features country songs, not especially contemporary country songs, as the film dates from 1984.
Its a pretty ok film really - I can't say there isn't any cheese present but then hey, this is a part-musical, so, what do you expect? it has the look of a feature length TV show, rather than a big glitzy Hollywood film but its not exactly awful.
Its distinctly ok, especially if your a fan of country music, in which case I'd recommend it.
