Review of Songs from the Second Floor (2000) by Stephen G — 30 Jul 2007
One of the best cinema experiences of my life.
The last scene in the field on the outskirts of the city when all those people emerge out of the grass is one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen. Not a film in the Hollywood...plot driven sense. A series of images and scenes build up a disturbing picture of a city or culture on the brink of catastrophe. Roy Andersson. Thank god the Scandinavians exist is all you can say.
