Review of Songs from the Second Floor (2000) by Laimis Z — 16 Feb 2009
Wow. this is something truly strange and at the same time amazing. the long takes and the complex compositions in them are already ao perfectly choreographed that it is simply fun to watch as things evolve in the same shot.
this film is very funny too. the many characters and the situations they get themselves into are interesting but in a very odd and unexpected way. religion, sex, friendship, work, death. one hell of a swedish black comedy.
you never know what will happen. and that's what makes this so compelling. the future is not what we expected. duh! just watch this. creative brilliance at work. oh those scandinavians...
