Review of Songcatcher (2001) by Robin P — 02 Mar 2008
I watched the first fifteen minutes before giving up. The music was beautiful and the only thing that held me that long. But the accents were so frustrating to me--over-worked and cliched, the dialogue was laboured and unbelievable, and the characters, obvious stereotypes.
I felt insulted for anyone from Appalachia. I would have liked to learn more about Appalachian folk music, but I couldn't suffer through anymore of the movie.
