Terrence Malik has the most talented casts at his disposal and yet he chooses to make the same movie over and over again with diminishing returns. Thin Red Line, Tree of Life, To the Wonder. Excellent.
This film, Knight of Cups, Badlands. All very troubling. The New World is pretty good but this guy is barely batting over .500 despite being a bit of a legend. His films are a compilation of really great shots and cool but meaningless narration.
Invest in writing an actual story for a change. His more narrative films have always been his best. This is a huge miss for me.
