Review of Song of the Thin Man (1947) by Allan C — 06 Feb 2016
The final installment in the Thin Man film series. William Powell and Myrna Loy are as charming as ever and that is enough to carry another otherwise forgettable mystery. This film is also aided by a stronger than usual supporting cast that includes Keenan Wynn, Dean Stockwell as 11 year od Nick Jr.
, Jayne Meadows, Don Taylor and Gloria Grahame as a nightclub singer. I hadn't watched a film with Gloria Grahame in quite a while and I'd forgotten how much I liked her, so she was a unexpected treat in this film.
Overall, this film isn't anything brilliant or a standout in the series, but the cast, particularly Powell and Loy, make this film still worth checking out.
