Review of Song of the Sea (2014) by Collin E — 20 Jul 2015
I noticed that My younger siblings saw an adventure, I saw several intertwined tragedies. The basis in Celtic folklore is definitely there, although Tomm moore definitely took quite a bit of artistic license for some of the characters. The film is still a gem in the slew of less creative blockbusters that get released year after year; A great film for young kids & new parents; It has touches of peril with a whimsical outlook that hides a few somber tales of tragedy.
It's a good movie that has a major plot issue though; It is said that all the fairy's need to return to their world by sunrise on the day after Samhain, I feel that this is a pretty big issue pertaining to the latter third of the film that is never adequately addressed.
