A few jokes work but Son of the Mask is really, really bad. The CGI is absolutely unsettling, even for older audiences, the jokes are either unfunny or too frightening to be considered comedic, such as the Woody Woodpecker scene and the movie just doesn't feel the same without Jim Carrey.

When Jamie Kennedy puts on the mask, he looks like plastic. Carrey didn't face that problem when he put on the mask. A plothole also ends up in the movie. The first film implies that it only works at night but the dog gets to remain with it for as long as he wants.

The movie is also downright bizarre, and not in a good way. Basically, after watching the Michigan J Frog cartoon where the frog pretends to be a normal frog when the guy who caught him singing tries to show it to other people, Kennedy's baby decides to mess with him using the Mask's powers to get him committed largely for his own amusement.

Yes, really. Son of the Mask? More like Sin of the Mask. *crickets chirping" A bit crappy, sorry.
