Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Phillip P — 24 Mar 2009
What made being a kid so much fun was that the only limits you had were those created by your imagination. This film is a reminder of why being a kid was so great even if you never knew it. This film plays out like a modern day John Hughes movie.
You know all the character stereotypes. You know how the plot is going to go. You know all the 80's songs. You wince at the fashion and attitudes. You even know how it's going to end. But you watch it to see HOW they do it.
A glorious joyride of imagination and wonder. I haven't laughed this much during a movie in I don't know how long. Seriously. No kidding this is the summer version of "A Christmas Story".
