Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Abby D — 31 May 2009
Odd, quirky but completely charming and amusing. This is a tale of two boys from different backgrounds but both suffering from absent parents. They bond through their vivid imaginations and love of the film First Blood.
In trying to recreate the film they encopunter problems with too many people taking over and getting in between their friendship. Both characters arcs go through changes and become stronger by they end.
There are some completely mad moments, watch out for the flying dog and my favourite scene, the sixth form common room. I remember doing space candy and coke as well. Oh and there is a hilarious cameo from Eric Sykes.
