Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Colin H — 31 May 2009
What an unusual film. A young boy from a religion that bans any watching of TV, manages to see the film Rambo (clearly under aged!) and goes through a crazy transformation into an overly imaginative wannabe Rambo who teams up with another boy who is a wannabe film maker. The two boys start remaking Rambo to win a competition.
The film ultimately is all about friendship, belief and what is important in life. It is very moving and the child actors are all very convincing. The crazy French exchange student (wannabe actor and wrench between the two boys' friendship) is bizarre though!
