Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Andrew C — 03 Sep 2009
A rather amusing story about 10 year old students during the mid 80s in England. Two students who couldnt be different from one another strike up a friendship. Soon they are filming a movie for a nation-wide youth contest and incorporating each other's ideas.
Other students find out about and when the "cool" kid shows interest, everyone wants to be part of the project. The originator of the idea is upset because he is losing control of the direction of the picture, and the closeness of the only real friend he had.
This is "feel-good" and not the kind of crap that I usually like, but they did this well. Clean and witty, this could be enjoyed by the whole family. The PG-13 rating is absolutely ridiculous.
