Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Harry F — 10 Jul 2010
Better than I thought, but still not great, this suffers from lack of good characters. The two leads, while fine actors, never quite hit likeable, either being annoying or just there, and their friendship feels quite forced.
A brother is severely underwritten, meaning at the end, when he apolgises for not being there, you don't really feel much need to route for the characters. Still, the filming sequences are amusing, and there's enough charm to make this watchable.
