The "TomatoMeter" has lost all credibility. The arm chair critics are the ones that offer ... nothing new. It is another example of the "have nots" being jealous of the "haves." You have to look at the heart of the story. These same critics would go to a Monet painting and say, "He missed a spot" It's the overall picture that counts.

This movie is like a fresh painting by Rembrandt, El Greco or Renoir compared to a dark and dreary 3rd to 14th Century painting that the Passion of the Christ was.

The "Son of God" paints a different picture then has been done before and is satisfying. it feels authentic and goes out of the way to not over act. It is more gritty and minimal.

Audience gave it 82% approval It was a little jaded about seeing this movie after spoiler alerts, Somebody dies. The stand out performance of the film goes to Roma Downey, of "Touched by an Angel". You really feel the agony that a parent feels that has to watch their child die.

The other actors and writing was satisfying to create its own "painting" of a familiar subject. If a person is honest with themselves and humble they will find it hard not to feel emotions in this film. It will be hard to leave until the last credits have rolled.

"But hey. The movie poster doesn't have a gun on it. It might be boring".

With all of dark violent films preying on people addictions and stirring up violence and car racing that I would hope that people would be rooting for something like this. It is a dark film but has the right amount of light.".
