Review of Son of God (2014) by C T — 24 Mar 2014
Son of God is one of those films where you know what you're going to get. In this case, an extended version of Jesus' life from the History Channel's mini-series, The Bible. Despite a stunning performance by Diogo Morgado as history's most iconic and religiously important figure, I cannot give this film higher than a three because it has no depth whatsoever, and minimal characterization at best.
I wish Morgado's portrayal of such a powerful story was enough to salvage the film, but ultimately, Son of God is a film beyond salvation.
