Review of Son of God (2014) by Dean G — 08 Jun 2014
To be honest, as an avid movie lover this just didn't grab yet alone hold my attention for just over 2hrs... I've been moved by other films with themes of love, forgiveness, redemption and power... And this film is supposed to be about Jesus?! The Author of Salvation. The best portrayal of every moving, touching, restoring theme of ever known to mankind, where 2000 years later churches are still being established in His Name. Ja I'm quite disappointed to say the least. This might've passed as a play, but def not for film... Sorry.
I think the best cast actor for this film was Barabas, I thoroughly enjoyed him (insert guilty chuckle).
I must say I preferred the ending in Son of God as opposed to Mel Gibsons Passion of the Christ, but other than Barabas and the ending, the Passion still rocks this one hands down.
It'd also be really cool to see a movie where Jesus's other side is revealed more... His charisma and charm, His humor and being the wellspring of life at any party, attracting the masses to him. That'd be lekka.
#dngrated.
