Review of Son of God (2014) by Calvin C — 22 Aug 2014
A very glossy, Sunday school version of the life of Christ. Since some scenes came right out of the cable miniseries The Bible, the movie feels just like that; a cable TV movie of the week. Everything about the acting and production makes the story feel too safe. Christians who felt that a movie like The Passion of the Christ was too violent and hard to watch will love this version instead. But, this Christian prefers the less sugar-coated Bible stories to this snoozefest.
