Review of Son of a Gun (2014) by Philippe D — 02 Jan 2015
Well-acted, but aesthetically confusing and lacking in subtext. "Son of a Gun" is undeniably beautiful, but the bright, lush seaside landscape seems mismatched with the seedy crime world of the film.
And while the characters appear affable enough (as far as thieves go), their motivations for entering a life of crime are never elucidated, which renders most of their actions senseless and unjustified.
