Review of Sommersby (1993) by Christopher B — 24 Mar 2008

This movie is just terrible. The makers should be condemned for their haphazard dismissal of the proposed elements simply to draw tears. Richard Gere is miscast as the main role and plot twists having to do with his character come up far too abruptly and are, quite frankly, idiotic considering the time period.

The traumas and change in coming back from war is not believable for the post-Civil War south, neither is sharecropping...
