Review of Somewhere (2010) by Yuki S — 10 May 2011
I was frustrated throughout most of the movie because I was hoping for more than just a camera following some playboy movie star (who's -- shocker -- only a decent person when his daughter's with him) around for 1.5 hours. I guess movies with no real plot just aren't my thing.
But I thought that it's still pretty cute. Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning made a convincing father-daughter duo... it was almost like watching a home video. A boring home video that can be really sweet at times.
The ending was pretty wtf to me. I do not understand these deep metaphors.
