Review of Sometimes in April (2005) by Patricia D — 12 Jun 2007
It is often hard to decide what angle to view such abhorrent human tragedy through the retrospective frame of a movie, and Sometimes in April does it perfectly. The texture, the characters, the story all have a real quality to them and it compels you to watch scene after scene of heart wrenching horror.
It does not hide the truth from you, like other Hollywood yarns about the Rwandan genocide [yes, I am talking about Hotel Rwanda]. Should be watched side by side with Frontline's Ghosts of Rwanda.
