Something's Gotta Give" is a refreshing romantic comedy that pulls at your emotions because you really feel what the characters feel. Diane Keaton is as magnificent as she's ever been as, Erica Barry, a divorced, successful playwright who is content with being single but deep down fears being alone for the rest of her life. This role had] to be written for Keaton, as I can't imagine ANY other actress playing the part! I'm in awe of Diane's ability to show such a complete range of highs and lows in one single facial expression. She makes you feel as uncomfortable as the character she's playing -- you just get it.

Additionally, Jack Nicholson is unbelievable in his role as the forever ageing playboy, Harry Sanborn who only dates women in their 20's. [Reminds me of Matthew McConaughey's character, Wooderson, in "Dazed & Confused" when he says "I love high school girls... I get older but they stay the same age"] Jack's performance is just as great if not better than his role in "As Good As It Gets". We see a range in Jack that you don't often get in many of the roles he has played - mostly because of the writing.

Directed by Nancy Meyers, Diane and Jack make you smile, feel uncomfortable laugh and cry from their uncanny acting ability and on-screen chemistry. You leave the theater knowing that they'll both be nominated for excellence in acting come Oscar time.
