Review of Something New (2006) by Tara G — 07 Jul 2007
Would people please stop comparing this to "Guess Who". This movie has a different story compared to "Guess Who"; "Something New" is about one person learning to let down their guard.
"Guess Who" is about a couple going to a family dinner which one of them hasn't met the family yet. The only similar things between these two is having an interracial couple and some comedy.
Anyways, to me, "Something New" is good. Everyone's acting is very good, esp. Sanaa Lathan and Simon Baker. This movie's storyline is very good but there are some flaws. One flaw is the "black tax"; it was emphasized a little too much.
Overall, the movie is very romantic, a little serious/dramatic, and funny.
