Something Borrowed is a film showing heartache, guilt, and regret. Dex was stuck between marrying the girl he didn't love because his mother was the happiest she's ever been, and between the girl he truly loved that his father didn't want him to associate with.

It tested true love and friendship. Rachel was in the shadow of Darcy for so long she didn't know how to let herself be happy. Ethan was the level headed friend who just sits by watching the girl he loves fall in love with somebody else but also helps her realize what she wants and cares more about her happiness than his own.
